ROCK CLIMBING IN AND AROUND CAPE TOWN
THIS WEBSITE CONTAINS PHOTOS AND INFORMATION FROM VARIOUS ROCK CLIMBING GROUPS OR TEAMS OF THE WESTERN CAPE
A guide to rock climbing including basic lead climbing and multi-pitching on sports climbs.

If you would like to have your rock climbing photos on this website,  or if you would like to share information about rock climbing you can contact the Webmaster.
Where to go?
Climbing sites in and around greater Cape Town: De Doorns / Bergplaas and Cederberg, Hellfire (Du Toits Kloof), Paarl Rock, Kleinmond, Silvermine, Muizenberg Crags, and Lakeside Pinnacle.
  Silvermine crags: Blaze of Glory
We should have gone there very early morning there so that the sun shines there for better photos and so that it doesn't get too cold there from the wind. But it can get unbearingly hot between 11am and 3pm.
R10 entrance fee for adults. The ParksBoard closes the park 7pm. Take something warm with! Blaze Of Glory: Hairless Mexican* grade15: way too easy. Dead-Wing Starling** Grade 17 nice Drop Zone*** grade19  a challenge. (Karl). See Silvermine photos.
Directions to Paarl Rock:     Travel along the N1, taking the Paarl turn-off. About 1.3 km down the main road, there is a turn-off to the LEFT to PAARL MOUNTAIN RESERVE (the sign board is on the right). This is a gravel road that winds it's way up the hill, past a picnic site, and leading to a boom gate / pay booth. The entry fee per car is about R30-00. The road forks here, and you need to stay on the LEFT fork. Carry on along this road (see attached map) until you reach the end of the road which ends at the base of Paarl Rocks.  You may also park at the boom and walk the path to save some bucks :-)
